Why Make a Crochet Spa Set?

Crochet spa sets are an incredible way to combine creativity and self-care. Here are a few reasons why crocheting a spa set is a project worth starting:

  • Great for Gifting: Perfect for holiday presents, birthday gifts, or as part of a relaxation gift basket. Crochet spa sets are always a hit, and this one is sure to be a showstopper!
  • Sustainable & Eco-friendly: Reusable scrubbies and soap savers help reduce disposable waste in your beauty routine. Plus, using 100% cotton yarn makes these items gentle on the skin and the environment.
  • Customizable: Choose colors and textures that bring you joy or that of a friend!

I’ve created a helpful video tutorial for the drawstring used in this pattern as well. You can find it on YouTube here.

This pattern is written in English, using US terms. If needed, you can find a handy term conversion chart right here in my Resource Library.

The Crochet Soap Saver Pattern

NOTES:

  • The soap saver is worked from the bottom up
  • Turning chain does NOT count as a st, so you will always make your first st of the round into the same st where you placed your last sl st from the previous round

Begin by chaining 15

Rnd 1: dc in 2nd ch from hook, and in the next 12 chs, make 2 dc in the last ch. Continuing on the opposite side of the chain, dc in the next 13 ch, make 2 dc in the last ch. Sl st in the next ch, ch 2 [30]

Rnd 2: BLO dc in each st around (including the st that you just made a sl st in), sl st in next st, ch 2 [30]

Rnd 3: dc in each st around, sl st, ch 2 [30]

Rnd 4: bpdc in each st around, sl st, ch 2 [30]

Rnd 5-12: repeat rounds 3 and 4 [30]

Rnd 13-14: dc in each st around [30]

Fasten off and weave in end.

Make the Hanging Cord: (for help with the cord, refer to my video tutorial here)

  • From your yarn ball, take a long strand of yarn measuring 145 inches, or about 4 yards
  • Fold the strand of yarn to where one side is about 1/3 longer than the other side
  • Slip knot into your hook at the fold you just made *if you’re using the optional wooden beads, you’ll want to put your bead on before you slip knot onto your hook. Do this by pushing the folded yarn through your bead and knotting off. Then, slip knot onto your hook as close to the bead as possible.
  • Take the shorter end of the yarn into your hand as your working end
  • Next, yarn over from the other end of yarn strand from front to back over your hook
  • Next, yarn over with your working side of the yarn strand PHOTO and pull through both loops on the hook
  • Repeat steps 5 & 6 until the entire yarn strand has been used up.
  • Tie off end *if you’re using the optional wooden beads, put your second bead on the end before knotting off.

Weave the hanging cord back and forth through the double crochets on Round 13
