The Berry Patch – Crochet Berries Free Pattern Bundle

Among the many things that kids have 100% right: an obsession with fresh berries. After all, happiness is a bowl of fresh berries. Among them, raspberries are my personal favorite, but somedays I crave a sweet juice strawberry. And fresh blueberries sprinkled over homemade granola make their way to our breakfast table several times a week in the summer. So in honor of these special juicy bits, I’ve created The Berry Patch – Crochet Berries Free Pattern Bundle which you can find in the Resource Library here.

The bundle includes patterns for strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. The special thing about this pattern is that I provide the method for crocheting the raspberries and blackberries in 3 different ways: the berries picked off the bush without the stem, the berries with the stem attached, and clusters of 3 berries still on the stem with leaves. Pick one or make them all, it’s up to you! The printable pattern for this pattern is available to download and print to be yours forever.

No store-bought berry can complete with one that comes right from the home garden. And part of the home-grown experience of course, is the picking of the fruit.  I love the moments spent in the raspberry patch, normally occurring in the early evening – warm, quiet and peaceful. I chat with the other critters who also love my patch – spiders, flies, ants, and birds.  They scurry around as I gather the berries into my colander. Nowadays, my precious son joins me as we embark on the treasure hunt for the perfect dark red raspberry.

Beneath the raspberries grow our strawberries. Somehow they ended up there and they come back happily year after year.

Raspberry & Blackberry Free Crochet Pattern

Rasp-ber-ry (noun): An edible soft fruit consisting of a cluster of reddish-pink drupelets. (aka: the best fruit ever.) Raspberry & blackberry free crochet pattern (noun): a free crochet pattern of said clustered, delicious fruit.

The best part of July is when my raspberries come on. I LOVE raspberries. Everything about them. I love their shockingly bright purply red blush, their pungent, tangy-sweet perfume, their fragile, delicate skin; and I especially love the juicy berry explosion that takes place in my mouth when I eat them straight off the cane after being warmed by the sun all day.

My salivary glands are active even now as I type.

I’m talking of home-grown raspberries of course.  I have yet to have such an invigorating encounter with a raspberry purchased from a “big-box” grocer.  I will not lose hope, however, due to the unfortunately short harvest season of this most delectable fruit.

You’ll have to forgive me because although this pattern is also for blackberries I do not have the same affection for them. They are here by default. Sorry blackberry.
